He Hears You in the Depths

In my distress I called to the Lord,

and he answered me.

From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help,

and you listened to my cry.

No depth is too dark, no place too far, and no moment too desperate for God to hear you. When Jonah cried out from the depths, he discovered that God’s presence reaches where human strength cannot. The Lord does not turn away from distress. He listens, He responds, and He draws near to the one who calls on Him.
