The Hidden Wisdom

"However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory."

— 1 Corinthians 2:6–7 (NKJV)

When we consider how much technology and knowledge have advanced in recent centuries, it’s easy to be captivated by the wisdom of man. Yet despite the greatness of human achievements, they pale in comparison to the wisdom of God. Is man limited? Absolutely. In what sense? In every sense. Even at its highest, human wisdom and knowledge cannot penetrate the eternal mysteries of God. Scripture reminds us that “all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away, but the word of the Lord endures forever” (1 Peter 1:24–25).

The wisdom of this world rises and falls, but God’s wisdom is eternal. Unlike human insight, which fades with time, the wisdom of God was established “before the ages” and is revealed in Christ for our salvation and glory. This wisdom is not discovered through human effort but given by divine revelation. Through the Holy Spirit, even our limited faith is met with God’s boundless truth, enabling us to know the One who transcends all understanding.
