Loved First, Love Freely

“We love Him because He first loved us.” — 1 John 4:19 (NKJV)

There’s something powerful about being loved first. Before we ever knew God, before we ever tried to reach for Him, He was already reaching for us. His love isn't a response to our goodness—it’s the reason we have the capacity to love at all. When we truly understand that His love came before our faith, our obedience, or our efforts, it humbles us and draws us closer to Him. His love is not earned, it’s freely given.

Because He loved us first, we’re invited to live from a place of love instead of striving. When we rest in the truth that we are fully known and fully loved by God, it changes how we see ourselves and how we treat others. We no longer have to prove our worth or compete for acceptance.
