17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
— 2 Corinthians 4:17–18 (NKJV)
Paul reminds us that present suffering, though real and often heavy to our hearts, is not the final word. God is not wasting our pain; He is actively using it as an instrument to produce something far greater than what we endure now. When our eyes are fixed only on what is visible, affliction can feel overwhelming, but when our gaze is lifted to eternity, we begin to see suffering in its true proportion—temporary and purposeful.
This passage calls us to live with an eternal perspective. Faith trains our vision to look beyond circumstances and trust in God’s unseen work. What feels fragile and fleeting today is giving way to a glory that cannot fade, decay, or be taken away. As we walk by faith and not by sight, we are anchored by the promise that God’s eternal purposes outweigh every momentary trial, and His glory will endure long after our struggles have passed. GOD bless, share with your family and friends.
